About Apollonia Camping

At Apollonia Camping in Plakias, a small, family-run campsite on the island's south coast, facing the Libyan Sea. The village centre, with its tavernas and supermarkets, is a 5-minute walk away, so the car can stay parked all week. What is the setting like? Dramatic and wonderfully varied. Plakias is wrapped in hidden bays, with the Kotsifou and Kourtaliotis gorges as grand gateways into the village and mountains rising behind. Fancy a day out? The Holy Monastery of Preveli is about a 15-minute drive away, and Preveli Beach and Damnoni Beach are close by for a change of scenery. Where do you stay and cool off? Happy Camp mobile homes are the rental option, while tent pitches sit in the shade of olive trees, and tents and camping equipment can be rented on site. Two outdoor pools, one for adults and one for children, are open from May to September, and the pool bar is a firm favourite. Apollonia has two outdoor pools: one for adults and one just for children, so everyone finds their own splash zone. They are open from May to September. Pool access costs €3 per person and includes one drink at the poolside bar, which is a lovely way to end a swim. Sunloungers are set out around the pool, and a parasol with two deckchairs is available for €10. Pack your swimwear and plan a relaxed afternoon by the water.

Plakias Beach lies just 40 m from the campsite: free, fine sand with direct access, part of about 1.5 km of beachfront on the Libyan Sea. A cycling and walking path runs alongside it. Umbrellas and loungers are available for an extra charge. Preveli Beach and Damnoni Beach are close by for a change of scene.
