About Luxembourg

Larochette itself has a photogenic castle ruin high above the village, restaurants and sunny terraces. Luxembourg City is 35 km away, and Luxembourg-Findel airport is only 27 km from the campsite.

Culture is never far off. Castle towns such as Vianden, Beaufort and Larochette invite you to climb ramparts and roam medieval ruins. Echternach, Luxembourg's oldest town, has a quaint market square and its famous hopping procession, which carries a UNESCO label. In Luxembourg City you can walk the casemates, which stretch for kilometres, and visit the MUDAM museum or the Philharmonie. In the south-east, wine-growing villages on the Moselle are made for a relaxed afternoon with a glass in hand.

Best time to visit Luxembourg

The Mullerthal is at its best from late May to September. May and June bring fresh green forests and highs of about 18 to 21°C, ideal for hiking and quieter days. July and August are warmest at about 23°C, perfect for the water park at Camping hu Birkelt village. September stays mild at about 19°C. The north of Luxembourg is a little cooler and rainier, while the Moselle valley in the south-east is milder. Rain falls all year, so pack a light jacket. Luxembourg's own school holidays run from 16 July to 14 September 2027, with Pentecost from 29 May to 6 June. The campsite is open from 18 April to 13 September.
