Fancy a Puglia holiday with sea views, swimming pools and a serious dose of Salento sunshine? Camping La Scogliera sits high above the Adriatic between Santa Cesarea Terme and Castro, surrounded by Mediterranean greenery and overlooking one of southern Italy's most spectacular stretches of coastline.
The big attraction is the aquatic area: three outdoor pools, including a 14 x 8-metre main pool, two children's pools, water-play features and slides. Older children will naturally make a beeline for the slides, while younger ones have their own splash areas. Add a playground, outdoor fitness area, football, tennis, padel, pétanque, table tennis and summer entertainment and there is plenty to keep active families busy.
Is the sea nearby? Absolutely – Porto Miggiano is roughly 1.8 km away, and the campsite operates a complimentary shuttle to the beach. The surrounding coast is rocky rather than a classic sandy-beach resort, so bring water shoes and a snorkel. You will thank us later.
What about dining? The panoramic restaurant and pizzeria is one of the campsite's real pleasures, serving Mediterranean dishes and pizza from its sea-view terrace. Recent holidaymakers have particularly appreciated the spectacular location, friendly staff, attractive accommodation and the combination of pool and coastline.
For families, we would particularly recommend La Scogliera for children around 5–16. Younger children have dedicated pools and play areas, while older children get more from the slides, sports, snorkelling and Salento excursions. And parents? Aperitivo with a sea view. Obviously.
