What if your family holiday could combine camping, a spectacular thermal waterpark and easy access to two European capitals? Camping Terme Čatež does exactly that. Located at Čatež ob Savi in southeastern Slovenia, this five-star holiday resort sits beside the Sava River, surrounded by green countryside and the gentle hills of the Posavje region.
The major attraction is the Thermal Riviera, an extraordinary complex with more than 12,000 m² of indoor and outdoor thermal-water surfaces. In summer, the open-air Riviera delivers waterslides, wave pools, a lazy river, children's water areas and themed attractions. When the weather changes, the Winter Thermal Riviera provides an impressive indoor alternative, making this a particularly versatile family destination throughout much of the year.
Who is it best for? We would particularly recommend Terme Čatež to families with children from toddlers through teenagers. Younger children have shallow water areas and themed play zones, while older children and teenagers have slides, waves and adrenaline attractions to keep them entertained.
Beyond the pools, there are sports facilities, cycling opportunities, restaurants, shops, wellness facilities and children's activities. And the location is excellent for exploring: Brežice is only a few kilometres away, Zagreb is roughly 40 km away and Ljubljana around 100 km away.
Would you stay entirely within the resort? You could easily do so. But we recommend setting aside a day for Brežice Castle, Mokrice Castle or Zagreb. The combination of enormous water facilities, nature and sightseeing makes Terme Čatež particularly appealing for families wanting plenty of variety.
