Within 10 kilometres, the landscape combines the Adriatic coastline, broad sandy and shingle beaches, the Tordino River corridor and gently rolling coastal countryside. Inland, vineyards, olive groves and low hills lead towards the foothills of the Apennines. Giulianova and Roseto provide lively seaside scenery, while protected natural areas around the Borsacchio coastline add dunes, greenery and quieter walking opportunities nearby, year-round.

The beach is directly beside the resort and is particularly convenient for families who prefer not to spend their holiday driving to the coast. The wide shoreline gives children plenty of room to play, while the reserved beach facilities make a full day beside the Adriatic straightforward. For younger children, I would head to the shallow pool early in the day and then move to the beach when the afternoon becomes warmer. Older children will probably favour the slides and sports activities. The pool complex includes a semi-Olympic pool, children’s area and hydromassage, so there is something for different ages. Do remember that swimming caps are required in the pool area. Nowadays, they are so soft and light, you don't know you're wearing them any more. The accommodation area is designed around a relaxed outdoor holiday, and modern mobile homes and lodges are particularly convenient for families wanting more comfort than a traditional camping pitch. Parking is generally arranged separately rather than immediately beside the accommodation, so pack beach equipment in an easily accessible place. For cycling families, bring or hire bicycles if possible. The coastal cycling route provides an excellent way to explore towards Giulianova without relying on the car. The nearby town is also reachable by bicycle, making it useful for an evening outing. Finally, allow time for a day away from the coast. Teramo, Atri, Civitella del Tronto and the Gran Sasso area reveal a very different side of Abruzzo, with historic towns, hilltop scenery and mountain landscapes. That contrast is one of the strongest reasons I would recommend Stork for families who want more than just a beach holiday.”
