On the golden seam of Abruzzo, where the Trabocchi Coast begins its poetic unfurl, Camping Il Pioppeto holds one of Vasto Marina's most coveted positions — right on the sandy Adriatic beach of Marina di Vasto. This is family-run Italy at its most sincere. The site sits right on the beach on the outskirts of Marina di Vasto, five minutes' drive or a half-hour walk from the town, yet it feels deliciously apart — an oasis of green directly on the sea. You are a mere 150 meters from golden sands and sparkling waters without crossing roads, a detail that matters when you have little feet in tow. And access is effortless: located just 60 km south of Pescara, with easy reach via car, train, or bus from Rome and Naples, plus a 10-minute stroll to Vasto–San Salvo station. Here, the Adriatic does most of the work. Shallow, clear, and impossibly calm — ideal for long swims and first paddles. A long cycle path runs parallel to the beach, so your mornings begin with a ride through sea pines before coffee. Ideal location by the sea: with direct access to a sandy beach and crystal-clear waters, the campsite offers the perfect setting for a seaside holiday in the heart of nature. Facilities are curated for slow, sun-drenched days. Restaurant and bar; shop with local produce; kids' club and play area. The restaurant serves regional dishes including fish and seafood specialities and pizzas — thin, blistered, straight from the oven — alongside fresh-caught Adriatic catch. At the bar, aromas of freshly baked pastries and strong espresso drift out at dawn. Stock up on local produce — fruit, bread, cheese and charcuterie — at the on-site food shop. The sea is the star here. A free sandy beach lies just 150 m from the site, reached on foot, inside the Marina di Vasto Nature Reserve. The sand is fine, the strip is wide and the sea bed slopes gently, which is ideal for children. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available at equipped beach facilities nearby, and dogs have a Dog Beach of their own close by.

Eat well without leaving the site. The restaurant-pizzeria offers relaxed meals and takeaway, ideal after a beach day, and full or half board can be booked with your stay. Reception is open daily from 08:00 to 20:00, and the team speaks English and Italian. They handle tourist information, excursion bookings including Tremiti Islands trips, and bike hire. Check-in for rental accommodation is from 16:00 and check-out by 10:00. Arriving after 20:00? Just let the campsite know in advance.

Dogs up to 35 kg are welcome on the campsite and in some residence units, at management's discretion; aggressive breeds are not admitted. Leashes are mandatory and bathing is not permitted.
