About Selema Camping

Where does Sardinia feel most like a well-kept secret? Quite possibly in Santa Lucia, a small fishing village on the island's north-east coast, where Selema Camping tucks its pitches and mobile homes beneath a canopy of pine trees. The sea is about 150 m away, reached along a shaded path that works just as well for bikes and pushchairs, and the beach beyond stretches for nearly 4 km of soft sand. What do the days look like here? Slow, in the best possible way. Mornings begin with fresh bread from the on-site market, afternoons belong to the sand, the shallow, gentle sea and a splash in the pool, and in the evening the restaurant-pizzeria serves Sardinian dishes and wood-fired pizzas on the terrace. Younger children love the play areas, while sporty types can book a padel court, kick a ball on the football field or hire an e-bike at reception. Is there more to see than beach? Plenty. Mini-cruises into the Gulf of Orosei board only 4 km away, the Bidderosa Oasis is about 23 km from the campsite and the island of Tavolara lies 45 km away. Further inland, the Tepilora Natural Park rewards hikers, while Orosei, Galtellì, Oliena and Dorgali add historic villages and a good dose of Sardinian culture. Olbia and its ferry port are 56 km away by road. Who will love it? Couples and families with small and primary-school children will feel right at home at this three-star campsite, with mobile homes to rent and pitches for tents, caravans and campers. Pick your spot, pack the sun cream and let the pines do the rest.

Surroundings

Selema lies on Sardinia's north-east coast, where flat to gently sloping pine and eucalyptus woodland meets a long sandy beach. The surroundings are peaceful and rural, with the small fishing village of Santa Lucia right next door. Harbour town La Caletta, with its own long beach, is 4 km away, while mountain landscapes rise further inland. Walkers can explore the Tepilora Natural Park, stroll along the shore or visit historic villages, a lovely mix of sea, forest and mountain.

“Walk to the beach before breakfast: the shaded pine path is only 150 m, and the sand is quiet and golden in the early light. Travelling with wheels? Bikes and pushchairs glide along that same path, so beach days need very little planning. Swimming caps are mandatory at the pool, so tuck one into your bag, and arrive before lunch for the pick of the free loungers. Mornings suit the Gulf of Orosei mini-cruise, with boarding just 4 km away and plenty of time left for an afternoon swim. Tavolara island, 45 km away, deserves a full day, so pack a picnic, sun hats and a good camera. Hungry after the sea? Order a wood-fired pizza on the terrace and watch the sky turn pink over the pines. Padel fans can book a court for an extra fee, then cool off on the beach afterwards. Bidderosa Oasis, about 23 km away, makes a wonderful nature outing when you want a change from the sand. Hikers, lace up for the Tepilora Natural Park, where the mountain scenery is a world away from the coast. Stroll the 350 m into Santa Lucia village at sunset for an ice cream, then wander back beneath the pines.”
