Norcenni Girasole Village is surrounded by the quintessential scenery of the Tuscan countryside, set among the rolling Chianti hills between Florence and Siena. The landscape is a beautiful patchwork of vineyards, olive groves, cypress trees, woodland and gently undulating farmland, with historic farmhouses, castles and picturesque villages scattered across the hillsides. The village itself sits on a hillside overlooking the Valdarno, creating attractive views across the surrounding countryside. In spring and summer, the scenery is lush and vibrant, while the changing light gives the hills a particularly romantic character. With winding country roads, vineyards and ancient villages nearby, the area is ideal for leisurely walks, cycling, wine tasting and discovering authentic Tuscany.

First, if you can, book one of the mobile homes or chalets in the upper village area — you'll be steps away from the Girasole water park, which is brilliant for early morning dips before the crowds arrive. The pools tend to fill up by mid-morning in peak July and August, so early birds absolutely win! Speaking of early mornings, don't miss the fresh cornetti (croissants) at the village bar — the Italian breakfast experience alone is worth waking up for. The onsite supermarket is surprisingly well-stocked and reasonably priced — reviewers consistently praise it for good fresh produce and Italian specialities, so feel free to self-cater some evenings. For the restaurant evenings, we'd strongly recommend the terrace dining option: the views over the Chianti hills at sunset are simply incomparable, and the pasta and pizza are outstanding. The evening amphitheatre shows are a real treat — get there a few minutes early to grab good seats. Wednesday and Sunday evenings often have the liveliest programmes. Air conditioning in your mobile home or chalet is essential in July and August — the Tuscan hills can be delightfully warm but the evenings are beautifully cool on the terrace. For families with teens, the underground disco-club (opening at 10:30pm) is a massive hit — parents can safely leave them there while enjoying a quiet nightcap at the bar. Do take at least one day trip to Florence by train from Figline Valdarno station (just 5 km from the campsite) — the frequent services make it wonderfully easy. Many guests recommend packing a few extra days to visit Siena and the Chianti wine villages. This is a resort you'll want to come back to — and most guests do! ”
