About Camping Le Tikiti

Can you combine a Corsican beach, a proper pool and real peace and quiet? At Camping Le Tikiti you can. This three-star hillside campsite covers 12 wooded hectares above Baracci bay, with sea and mountain views, a 200 m² pool with a waterfall and a sandy beach 600 m away. It sits at the entrance to Propriano, so the town centre and its shops are only 1.5 km down the road. What is the atmosphere? Relaxed, on purpose. Le Tikiti is the opposite of a holiday village, so there is no animation, no club and no party games. That makes it a gem for couples and families with young or primary-school children who want long swims, beach walks and day trips. Teenagers who crave entertainment may find it too quiet. Younger children have a playground, table football, table tennis and pétanque, and parents get an outdoor fitness area. All of it is free. The mobile homes sleep five or six and have three bedrooms. Tents, caravans and campers can pitch freely on the hill. In summer, TikiCaffè takes care of breakfast, pizza and fresh bread. What should you know before you book? The pool is unheated and has no lifeguard, there is no shop on site and a car is recommended. In return you are halfway between Ajaccio and Bonifacio, with Sartène 12 km away, the prehistoric site of Filitosa 25 km away and the Bavella needles one hour by car. Pets are welcome on pitches only, not in the rentals.

The star of Le Tikiti is its oval outdoor pool of 200 m², with a waterfall and a maximum depth of 1.70 m. Little ones have their own paddling pool with very shallow water, and sunbeds are ready for parents. The pool is free for guests and open daily from 09:00 to 20:00, generally from late May to mid-September, weather permitting. It is not heated, and there are no slides and no indoor pool. Water games are allowed 11:00-12:00 and 17:00-19:00; at other times calm is asked. There is no lifeguard, so children must be supervised. Briefs or trunks are required, swim shorts are not allowed. Pets are not allowed in the pool area.

Baracci beach is 600 m from the entrance, about a ten-minute walk with one road to cross. It is a large sandy beach of about 1 km beside a protected natural site, wild, unsupervised and rarely busy, with free parking close to the sand. Propriano's town beach is about 1.9 km away.

TikiCaffè is the on-site bar, snack bar and pizzeria, serving breakfast, pizza and fresh bread and pastries. It opens in summer, from June to mid-September, daily 07:30-12:00 and 16:00-22:30, so lunch is a self-catering affair. Pre-order bread and pastries the day before for takeaway. A bread and ice depot runs from mid-June to mid-September.

Everything on site is free: a children's playground, an outdoor table football, table tennis, pétanque, billiards and an outdoor fitness area. The playground is open all year. Beyond the gates, the region offers hiking, quad biking, mountain biking and horse riding, so active families have plenty to choose from between pool sessions.

Le Tikiti proudly plays the anti holiday village card: no animation, no party games and no club atmosphere. Evenings are for pizza at TikiCaffè, a round of pétanque and sleeping well on the hill. If your teenagers need organised entertainment, this is not the place; for calm family holidays, it is ideal.

The team speaks French, English and Italian. Rental check-in is from 17:00; late arrivals find keys and a map in an envelope at reception. Baby kit and a freezer for ice packs are available.

Le Tikiti stands on a wooded hill in the middle of the Gulf of Valinco, halfway between Ajaccio and Bonifacio. The landscape is still wild and preserved: sandy beaches such as Baracci, Porto-Pollo and Campomoro lie at the foot of rocky mountains, while Sartène and the hinterland are unmistakably rural, made for slow drives and village stops. On the non-rural side, Propriano is a seaside town of about 4,000 inhabitants with shops and a port, just 1.5 km away.

“We recommend planning splash time around the pool's water-games slots, 11:00-12:00 and 17:00-19:00. At other hours the pool stays calm, which suits swimmers and sunbathers. The pool is unheated, so we suggest expecting refreshing water early and late in the season. There is no lifeguard, so we always advise keeping a close eye on little ones, who will love the paddling pool. Pack briefs or trunks, because swim shorts are not allowed. The beach at Baracci is wild and unsupervised, and there is a road to cross, so we recommend holding small hands on the ten-minute walk. There is no shop on site, so we suggest stocking up in Propriano, 1.5 km away, and pre-ordering bread and pastries at TikiCaffè the day before. We recommend renting a car: Bavella is one hour away and Bonifacio 1h30. Rental check-in is from 17:00. If you want to arrive from 12:00, it costs €50, and we advise emailing four days ahead. Kitchens in the rentals are basic, so we suggest packing a kettle and a toaster. The reception freezer is handy for ice packs. Travelling with a dog?
