Camping Sunêlia Le Tropicana enjoys a wonderfully varied setting on the Vendée coast, tucked into a mature pine forest between the Atlantic Ocean and the inland countryside. Within 15 kilometres, expect broad sandy beaches, dunes, maritime pine woodland, cycling trails, salt-marsh landscapes and quiet rural lanes, mixed with the lively seaside environment of Saint-Jean-de-Monts and neighbouring Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez. Coastal resorts bring promenades, cafés, shops and family attractions, while inland, the landscape becomes greener and more agricultural, with marshes, waterways and traditional Vendée villages adding a peaceful rural contrast.

“My first piece of advice is simple: make the aquatic complex part of your daily routine. The combination of heated pools, slides, children's water areas and the indoor pool means you are not entirely dependent on sunshine. Recent family feedback particularly praises the warm water, slides and the variety of the pool complex, making it one of the resort's strongest attractions. For younger children, I would suggest to take advantage of the Tropi'Club, which is designed specifically for ages 4–12. Teenagers have their own club too, so this is one of those rare holidays where different generations can genuinely have different agendas for a few hours. Do not overlook the bicycle hire. The surrounding pine forests and coastal cycle network are much more enjoyable on two wheels than from behind a windscreen. A family ride towards the beach makes an excellent morning expedition, particularly before the afternoon becomes busier. For supplies, remember that there is a useful seasonal grocery solution immediately opposite at Camping La Yole, as well as a small convenience offering at El Flamingo. The nearby supermarket is around 500 metres away, so there is no need to arrive with the car packed like a supermarket warehouse. And finally, leave a couple of days completely unplanned. One for the beach, one around Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie and, if the family has the energy, one for Noirmoutier. The campsite's reception can also help with tickets for Île d'Yeu and Puy du Fou, which makes spontaneous day-trip planning pleasantly easy.”
