About Camping Sunêlia Le Séquoia

What does a 4-star campsite in the Dordogne Valley look like when it is built around the family? Camping Sunêlia Le Séquoia answers with a 2,000 m² lagoon-style pool and its own sand beach, a heated water park with a triple-track slide and a flume, and a leafy 6-hectare park of pines, firs and a 300-year-old sequoia. Where do you sleep? In a mobile home, chalet or glamping lodge tent, or on a pitch for your own tent, caravan or camper, with private sanitary facilities available. Where do you eat? On the restaurant terrace above the pool, where local Périgord dishes are served, or at the snack bar and pizzeria. In July and August the evenings fill with dance nights, concerts and mussels-and-chips parties, while Sunny the mascot and the kids' club for ages 5-12 keep the youngest entertained. And beyond the gate? The campsite sits on the border of Quercy and Périgord Noir, and Rocamadour, Sarlat-la-Canéda, the Padirac chasm, the Lascaux caves and Saint-Cirq-Lapopie all lie within 90 minutes by car. Closer to home, Gourdon is 14 km away, Souillac 15 km, and a canoe base for trips on the Dordogne just 12 km. Brive Dordogne Valley Airport is 34 km from the site. Parents get their moment too: the spa has a jacuzzi and sauna, there is mini-golf and pétanque on site, and the village of Payrac is only 800 m away. Open from late April to mid-September, Le Séquoia works as well for an early-season escape as for a peak-summer holiday. Ready to pack the swimwear?

Surroundings

Le Séquoia sits in rural Lot, on the border of Quercy and Périgord Noir, in the heart of the Dordogne Valley. The wooded 6-hectare site, with pines, firs and a 300-year-old sequoia, lies at about 350 m altitude, 800 m from the village of Payrac, home to about 669 residents. Around you lie quiet countryside and villages rather than city bustle. The nearest towns are Gourdon, 14 km away, and Souillac, 15 km away, handy for shopping and a change of scenery. It is a calm, green base for families who like nature on the doorstep.

“Pack close-fitting swimwear: board shorts are not allowed in the pools, and your wristbands are collected at reception on arrival. Which pool first? Start with the 2,000 m² lagoon and its sand beach, then send the children down the slides. Mornings from 10:00 to 12:00, Monday to Friday, belong to Sunny Club for ages 5-12 in July and August, ideal for a spa visit. Spend your first evening on the restaurant terrace above the pool; local Périgord dishes beat unpacking the cooking kit. We recommend one big excursion per day: Rocamadour, Sarlat-la-Canéda, the Padirac chasm and Lascaux are all within 90 minutes by car. Gourdon, 14 km away, is your stop for larger supermarkets, so you can stock up before a barbecue evening on site. Travelling with a dog? Allow €6 per night per animal, keep it on a lead and bring the vaccination record. Running late on arrival day? A campsite map and your accommodation number arrive by email, and the key waits inside the rental. Adventurous families can try paragliding, 8 km away, or tree-climbing, 20 km away, for a day of adrenaline. In July and August, evenings bring dance nights, concerts and mussels-and-chips parties: the whole family is invited.”
