Wecamp Pirineos sits at around 650 metres in the Aragonese Pyrenees, surrounded by forested mountain slopes, green meadows and the Ara River valley. The landscape combines deciduous woodland, rocky mountain peaks, traditional villages and dramatic limestone gorges. Nearby Peña Montañesa dominates the scenery, while streams and riverbanks create cooler, greener pockets. The varied terrain makes this an excellent base for hiking, cycling, rafting, fishing and wildlife watching.

“Our first tip is simple: allow yourself plenty of time to enjoy the campsite itself. The combination of mountain scenery, swimming facilities and family activities means you do not need to organise an excursion every day. For families with younger children, the pool and children's play areas are particularly useful after a morning exploring the Pyrenees. If you enjoy active holidays, speak to reception about the activities available locally. The surrounding Sobrarbe region is superb for hiking and cycling, while the Ara River opens up possibilities for rafting and fishing. More adventurous families can look towards canyoning in the nearby gorges. You can also hire bicycles and obtain local information through reception. For sightseeing, make Aínsa your first excursion. It is close enough for an easy half-day visit and its medieval centre is especially atmospheric in the late afternoon. We would then dedicate a full day to Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park. Start early in summer and take suitable footwear, water and sun protection. Accommodation with a terrace is worth considering if you are travelling as a family. It gives everyone somewhere to relax after an active day, while mobile homes provide particularly convenient facilities for longer stays. If you are bringing a dog, this is a destination where it can genuinely enjoy the holiday too. The surrounding countryside offers numerous walking opportunities, although pets must remain leashed on the campsite. Finally, remember that this is a mountain campsite, not a traditional coastal resort. The real attraction is the scenery, fresh air, outdoor activities and opportunity to experience the Pyrenees at close quarters.”
