About Camping Taiga Lake Caspe

Fancy a family holiday where the lake is the main attraction and the adventure starts outside your door? TAIGA Lake Caspe sits directly on the shores of the vast Mequinenza Reservoir, known locally as the Mar de Aragón, in one of inland Spain's most intriguing and wonderfully under-the-radar landscapes. This is not a conventional beach resort. Here, the beach comes with mountains, fishing rods, kayaks and spectacular sunsets. The campsite has a large outdoor swimming pool, children's pool, private lakeside beach, marina, playground, restaurant and bar-terrace, while the reservoir itself opens the door to kayaking, paddleboarding, sailing, motorboat trips, fishing and cycling. Who will enjoy it most? We particularly recommend TAIGA Lake Caspe for active families with children from around 6 to 16, teenagers who need something more exciting than a standard pool, and families who genuinely enjoy being outdoors. Younger children have a playground and children's pool, while older children and teenagers can get properly involved in watersports, cycling and fishing. And is it just for serious adventurers? Absolutely not. You can spend the morning kayaking, the afternoon beside the pool and the evening over tapas on the terrace. The beauty is in choosing your own pace. Current guest feedback highlights the peaceful lakeside setting, pool, clean accommodation, friendly service and excellent access to outdoor activities. There is also a particularly appealing sense of space here: no crowded coastal strip, just water, hills, trees and plenty of room to breathe.

Current 2026 booking information places Lleida–Alguaire Airport approximately 79–87 km from TAIGA Lake Caspe. The airport currently has international/foreign connections at least seasonally, although its route network is limited. Zaragoza Airport (ZAZ) is approximately 117 km by road and is the stronger option for a wider range of international connections. Closest bus stop: The nearest regular public transport connection is in Caspe, approximately 14 km from the campsite. Bus stop: Plaza Aragón, s/n, 50700 Caspe, Spain The Caspe municipal information confirms HIFE bus services from Plaza Aragón. Closest railway station: Caspe Railway Station, approximately 14.1 km by road. Station address: Plaza de la Estación, s/n, 50700 Caspe, Spain The station is served by Renfe services on the Barcelona–Caspe–Zaragoza route. Animation: Family entertainment is offered, including activities and entertainment for different ages. The current TAIGA website does not publish a reliable fixed 2026 start/end date or daily animation timetable specifically for Lake Caspe, so I recommend displaying “seasonal family animation – programme varies” rather than inventing dates. Nearest pharmacy: Farmacia Revilla, Plaza Heredia 1, 50700 Caspe — approximately 14 km. Nearest petrol station: Moeve, Avenida Joaquín Costa 3, 50700 Caspe — approximately 14 km. Surroundings

TAIGA Lake Caspe sits directly beside the Mequinenza Reservoir, famously known as the Mar de Aragón, in a wonderfully remote corner of Aragón. Within 15 kilometres, expect rugged hills, pine and juniper woodland, rocky coves, dry Mediterranean vegetation and wide blue stretches of reservoir. The landscape is distinctly rural, with scattered farms, agricultural land and small villages rather than built-up resorts. Caspe, around 14 kilometres away, provides the nearest town atmosphere, with historic streets, shops and restaurants. Along the water, the scenery becomes increasingly wild, making this an excellent base for walking, cycling, fishing and wildlife spotting.

“My first tip for TAIGA Lake Caspe is to treat the reservoir as your second swimming pool — but with considerably more personality. The campsite has a proper outdoor pool for an easy family swim, while the lake is where the real adventure begins. Kayaking, paddleboarding, sailing, motorboats and fishing are all available, so I would book at least one water activity before arriving. If fishing is your family's thing, this is an especially interesting destination. TAIGA can help with fishing licences and offers equipment and boat-related services, so there is no need to arrive with a boot full of specialist gear unless you already have it. I would also pack good walking shoes, water shoes, sun protection and a hat. The terrain around the reservoir is natural and often rocky, and the Aragón sun can be serious business in summer. The campsite's own advice also recommends comfortable outdoor clothing and footwear for cycling and walking. The pool is a genuine bonus on very hot days, particularly when the lake becomes less tempting during the strongest afternoon heat. Current feedback also highlights the pool, cleanliness and peaceful setting. For groceries, the campsite shop is useful for basics and bread, but plan a proper supermarket run in Caspe, around 14 kilometres away. And don't over-plan the evenings. The bar-terrace beneath the mature pines is exactly where I would finish the day: cold drink, simple food, children still entertained and the reservoir doing the scenery for free.”
