The campsite is located in a dense mountain forest about 4 km away from the holiday town of Cecina.

“The combination of shaded forest pitches, a genuinely impressive water park and easy access to incredible Tuscan culture makes it one of our most popular destinations - and guests come back year after year. Here are my personal tips to make the very most of your stay: Arrive at the start of the season if you can. The first weeks of May see the campsite at its most peaceful, with lower prices and empty pools, great value for money. The pine forest is at its most fragrant and the mornings are magical. Many guests tell us it was the best decision they ever made. If you have older children, hire bikes from the Infopoint and cycle down to the sea. The route to Cecina Mare is gently downhill through vineyards and takes about 20-25 minutes each way. In high season, by cycling down you can avoid the beach car park queue entirely - you will feel very smug arriving by bike! Several guests in their reviews specifically mention the cycling as a trip highlight. Bear in mind it does get hot, so avoid cycling in the early afternoons. Do the Volterra day trip. Many guests skip it in favour of Pisa or Florence, but Volterra - just 40 minutes away - is one of Tuscany's most extraordinary places. The Etruscan walls, the Roman theatre ruins and the alabaster artisan shops are genuinely fascinating, the town is far less crowded than the big cities, and lunch in a local trattoria costs a fraction of the tourist-city prices. The campsite supermarket is well-stocked and convenient but obviously carries resort-level prices. The town of Cecina is only 4 km away and has excellent supermarkets, a weekly outdoor market, great restaurants and a lively cafe culture. Several guests have told us that eating dinner in Cecina was a highlight of their trip - the local Tuscan trattorias are excellent quality and very reasonably priced. Book an Elba excursion through the campsite Infopoint. The organised group day trip to Elba island is fantastic value - the ferry from Piombino takes about 45 minutes, and you arrive at Portoferraio, Napoleon's island capital. Spend a morning exploring, then take a taxi to one of the gorgeous beaches for the afternoon. Multiple guests rate this as the single best day of their entire Tuscany holiday. ”
