About Lido Di Sesto Camping

Where does Lake Maggiore end and the Ticino river begin? Right here at Lido di Sesto Camping, in the green heart of Ticino Park, a nature reserve in Lombardy. Your doorstep is water, wildlife and open sky, and the town of Sesto Calende is only about 1 km away. What is there to do? Plenty. Rent a canoe or SUP, paddle out on a pedalò, or reserve a motorboat that needs no boating licence. From 14, teenagers can try a Manta5 hydrofoil water e-bike with an adult present. On land, a cycle path leaves the campsite and follows the river towards the Navigli area of Milan, and bikes can be hired on site. Back at camp, the outdoor pool has a sunbathing area and a gradual depth of up to 1.40 m, ideal for young swimmers. Where will you sleep? A mobile home with veranda measures 35 m² and sleeps up to 4, with heating and air conditioning (€5 per day, paid on site). Pitches are wide and shaded, and parking is usually right next to your accommodation. Hungry? The restaurant-pizzeria serves pizza, meat and fish with a view towards the pool and lake, while the bar opens at 08:00 for breakfast and stays open for the evening aperitif. And beyond the gate? Arona and its Colossus of San Carlo are 10 km away, Lake Orta is 35 km and the boarding points for the Borromean Islands are about 40 km. Water on the doorstep, lake classics within easy reach: this is a family base worth booking.

Surroundings

Nature sets the tone here. The campsite lies inside Ticino Park, a nature reserve known for its biodiversity, where Lake Maggiore ends and the Ticino river begins. A cycle path starts right at the campsite and follows the river to the Navigli area of Milan. For a change of scene, the town of Sesto Calende is about 1 km away, and Arona, home of the giant Colossus of San Carlo, is 10 km away. Green riverbanks, open water and two easy-to-reach towns: a lovely mix for a family holiday.

“Reserve the motorboat ahead of your trip: no boating licence is needed, and Lake Maggiore becomes yours to explore at your own pace. Pack a swimming cap for the pool; if you forget, reception sells them, so arrival day stays relaxed and stress-free. Hire bikes at the campsite and follow the river path towards the Navigli area of Milan, as far as your legs allow. Arona, just 10 km away, is ideal for an easy outing to admire the Colossus of San Carlo. Set off early for the Borromean Islands: the main boarding points are about 40 km away, leaving you a full day to explore. Lake Orta, 35 km away, makes a lovely second lake for a change of scenery on a sunny day. At sunset, wander to the bar, open until 24:00, for an aperitif with the Ticino river close by. Teenagers from 14 will love the Manta5 hydrofoil water e-bike, as long as an adult is always with them. Arriving with a mobile home booking? Aim for 16:00-19:00 and keep the €100 deposit ready in cash. Pizza night? The restaurant-pizzeria serves dinner from 19:00 to 22:30, with a view towards the pool and lake.”
