About Thurium Villaggio Camping

On Calabria's Ionian shore, where Magna Graecia once flourished and pine forests still meet an impossibly blue sea, lies Camping Thurium Villaggio — a real forest by the sea. Camping Thurium Villaggio is located in a quiet area in the heart of the Magna Graecia where pine forests and natural beauties meet the Ionic Sea. Set in Contrada Ricota Grande, between Sibari and Corigliano-Rossano, this is a coastal Eden of maritime pines, oleanders, and salt-tinged air. With direct access to a private beach, the campsite is just the right place to spend a superb holiday. The beach is wide, sandy, and gloriously private — Ionian water so warm and clear it feels like bathwater at sunset. The village enjoys a quiet location in a pine grove, right next to a sandy beach on the Ionian coast of Calabria. Distance from Sibari 10 km, Corigliano 12 km, Rossano 22 km. From here, Calabria unfolds like an undiscovered country. The Calabria region offers many opportunities for trips out. Visit the mountains of Sila and Pollino or historical cities such as Corigliano, Rossano or Altomonte. The pool is the cool heart of the pine-shaded grounds: an adult pool with a whirlpool area, with a depth from 1.4 to 1.9 m. Umbrellas and sunbeds are set out around it for lazy afternoons, and a lifeguard keeps watch. Swimming caps are mandatory, so pack one for every swimmer. The pool season runs from early June to mid-September, weather permitting. Settle in with a book while the whirlpool bubbles, then join the family for a refreshing swim.

The private beach lies about 350 m from the site: soft sand, a gently sloping seabed and plenty of room, about 500 m long and up to 100 m wide. Beach service runs from early June to mid-September, weather permitting, and a beach bar is close at hand. Mobile home guests booking with us get one parasol, one sunbed and one reclining chair included.

Hungry? The à la carte restaurant also offers a daily menu, and the pizzeria bakes pizzas in the evening, with takeaway available. Tennis courts, five-a-side football, volleyball, basketball, bocce and bike rental are available for a fee. The animation team is on the go from morning to evening in season, from early June to mid-September. Children join the mini club, while adults can try group and Latin dances, games and tournaments.
