Perched on a terraced hillside at approximately 500 metres altitude, the campsite looks across forests and the surrounding valley, giving many pitches and accommodations wonderful panoramic views. What can families do here? Start with the two heated outdoor swimming pools, including a large pool and separate paddling facilities for the young ones, before heading to the playground, tennis court or sports fields. Onsite you'll find a campsite shop, snackbar - restaurant, modern heated sanitary facilities, Wi-Fi around the main building and a children's entertainment and animation programme. We particularly recommend Petite Suisse for families with children from roughly 4–12 years, although active teenagers can also appreciate the surrounding outdoor adventure activities available. Hiking, cycling, mountain biking, kayaking, canoeing, rafting and tree-climbing are all available in the wider Ardennes. And the location? It is superb for exploring the region, with La Roche-en-Ardenne, Durbuy, Houffalize and the wider Ardennes within easy reach. Camping ArdenParks Petite Suisse occupies a spectacular hillside position at around 500 metres elevation in the Belgian Ardennes. Within 15 kilometres, the landscape is dominated by dense forests, wooded valleys, rolling hills, open meadows and small rural villages. The Ourthe valley and surrounding waterways add opportunities for canoeing and kayaking, while extensive woodland trails suit walking and mountain biking. The elevated campsite provides particularly attractive panoramic views across the green Ardennes countryside in almost every direction.

“My first bit of advice for Camping ArdenParks Petite Suisse is simple: If possible choose your accommodation with the view in mind. The campsite is terraced on a hillside, and the elevated position is one of its defining features. Several current accommodation options have terraces or outdoor areas overlooking the Ardennes. For families, we would build your holiday around the pool. The two outdoor pools are pleasantly heated to around 28°C, with a dedicated paddling pool for younger children and a larger pool for older swimmers. The pool is usually open between 10:00–20:00 during the May-to-September swimming season. Learn about the campsite's own activities in advance, rather than treating it purely as a base for excursions. Tennis, football, volleyball, the playground and children's entertainment make it easy for children to meet others while parents enjoy the relaxed surroundings. Past guests often praise the clean sanitary facilities, pleasant pool, sports facilities and peaceful evenings. For a more adventurous day, I would learn about the plentitude of activities available around and recommend booking an outdoor activity in advance. The Ardennes around Petite Suisse are particularly suited to kayaking, canoeing, rafting, mountain biking and climbing, so active families can easily turn an ordinary holiday day into an epic adventure. Finally, remember that the campsite is at around 500 metres altitude. Even during summer, evenings can feel cooler than at lower elevations, so a light jacket is useful. And if you prefer an easy evening, simply stay onsite: the bar/snack area and small campsite shop make essentials and casual meals convenient without taking the car out again. ”
