Camping Costa d’Argento sits in the southern Tuscan Maremma, surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation, pine trees, open countryside and low rolling hills. The landscape gradually changes towards the coast, where sandy beaches, dunes and the protected WWF Lago di Burano create an exceptionally natural setting. Vineyards, olive groves and traditional Maremman farmland add rural character, while the hills around Capalbio provide beautiful viewpoints. Further south and east, the rugged Monte Argentario peninsula creates a dramatic backdrop above the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The accommodation areas are surrounded by greenery, and this natural setting is one of the property’s greatest charms. If you have children, I would alternate pool mornings with excursions or beach afternoons; this gives the holiday a much more relaxed rhythm. The beach shuttle is particularly useful in July and August. It runs regularly to Macchiatonda, allowing you to leave the car behind on beach days. The service is complimentary for guests staying in bungalows, brick-built accommodation and glamping tents, while pitch guests pay a small supplement. I would also recommend spending an evening at the onsite restaurant. The setting is informal but attractive, and Italian dishes, seafood and pizza make it a convenient option after a busy day. Recent dining feedback has been particularly positive about the quality and value of the restaurant, while guests also regularly highlight the friendly staff and the peaceful atmosphere. For families, the children's pool and playground make the resort particularly easy-going, while the tennis and football facilities give older children something active to do. The entertainment programme is strongest during July and August, so families travelling in peak summer should take advantage of the games and tournaments. Finally, leave time for Capalbio and the Tarot Garden. The medieval village is beautiful around sunset, while the extraordinary sculptures at the Tarot Garden are unlike anything else you are likely to see in Tuscany. Combine the visit with Lago di Burano or the nearby coast and you have a wonderful full-day excursion without a long drive.”
