Camping Santa Eulalia gives families exactly that combination, in the attractive coastal town of Altafulla on Spain’s Costa Dorada. The campsite is approximately five minutes on foot from Altafulla Beach, while the historic centre and railway station are also within easy reach. The atmosphere here is distinctly family-focused. The campsite is compact, making it easy for children to find their way around, yet facilities include a swimming pool with waterslide, children's play area, paddle tennis, petanque, football, basketball, table tennis, gym, supermarket, bar-restaurant and seasonal entertainment. Who will enjoy it most? We would recommend Santa Eulalia particularly for families with children aged roughly 3–14, as there is plenty for younger children around the pool and playground, while older children can enjoy sports, the waterslide and organised activities. And what about days out? This is where the location really works. Tarragona's Roman heritage is close, while PortAventura World and Aquopolis Costa Dorada make excellent full-day excursions. “My first recommendation at Camping Santa Eulalia is to make the most of the beach location. Although you have a swimming pool and waterslide onsite, Altafulla Beach is only around five minutes' walk away, so there is no need to choose between pool and sea. Pack a beach bag and make spontaneous afternoon swims part of your routine. Keep some days deliberately flexible. The campsite runs children's activities, aquagym, themed parties, shows, zumba and other seasonal entertainment, particularly during the main summer months. Check the programme when you arrive rather than planning every evening in advance. For active families, make use of the paddle court, football and basketball areas, table tennis and gym. The campsite's compact family character means younger children can enjoy the playground while older youngsters find their own activities. Several local comments specifically highlight the family atmosphere, cleanliness, facilities, swimming pool and helpful staff. One of my favourite suggestions is to combine a beach morning with an afternoon exploring Altafulla's historic side. The medieval Vila Closa and nearby Roman Villa dels Munts give the holiday a cultural dimension without requiring a long car journey. If you want a bigger adventure, save PortAventura World for a full day. Aquopolis is another excellent choice when the children want nothing but slides and water. Both are straightforward day trips from Santa Eulalia. Finally, pay attention to your accommodation choice. The standard bungalows offer practical facilities and parking beside the accommodation, while the larger Oasis houses sleep up to 6–8 people and provide several bedrooms, a kitchen, terrace and private parking.”
