About Karavomilos Beach Camping

What happens when a beach, a pool and a lively port town share the same postcode? You get Camping Karavomilos Beach, on the east coast of Kefalonia, just 1 km northwest of Sami. For more than 40 years, holidaymakers have settled into this 4-hectare garden of poplar, eucalyptus and mulberry trees, where bushes and flowers separate the pitches and shade is never far away. Where will the children spend their days? Mostly in the water. Sami Bay's beach is accessible directly from the campsite, with a gently sloping seabed that suits young swimmers, and the 200 m² outdoor pool comes with its own toddlers' pool for ages 1 to 3. On dry land, there are a playground, a volleyball court and a multi-sports pitch to keep energy levels happily high. And when hunger strikes? The restaurant serves Mediterranean lunches and dinners, the pizzeria and snack bar handle the casual cravings, and the beach bar offers a cold drink with a view of Ithaca. Prefer to cook? There is a communal kitchen and a minimarket, and Sami's tavernas and shops are a 1 km stroll away. Is there enough to explore? Plenty. The outdoor pool measures a generous 200 m², with room for lengths, lazy floating and plenty of family splashing. Younger swimmers have their own toddlers' pool of 16 m², made for ages 1 to 3 and under 40 cm deep, so little ones can paddle at their own level while the rest of the family enjoys the big pool. Sunbeds and shaded corners around the water invite long, easy afternoons. The pools welcome swimmers from early May until the end of September, which makes this a great choice for sunny spring and early autumn holidays too.

The sea is right here: the campsite has direct access to its free beach in Sami Bay, a mix of pebbles and sand with a gently sloping seabed that suits young swimmers. Dining here is easy: the restaurant serves Mediterranean lunches and dinners, with Greek daily specials from June, while the snack bar, pizzeria and takeaway cover quick bites and pizza nights. Mobile home check-in is from 16:00, check-out by 10:00. Please bring photo ID and contact the campsite in advance about arrivals after 21:00. A €100 cash deposit is paid on arrival. Rentals include bed linen (€20 double bed, €15 single bed, order 7 days ahead), towels (€10 per person per stay), fridges (€2.50 per day) and safes.
