Camping Capo Vieste sits directly beside Scialmarino Bay on Gargano's Adriatic coast. The immediate landscape combines a long sandy beach, white limestone rocks, Mediterranean vegetation, pine trees and low coastal hills. Inland, the terrain becomes greener and more wooded towards the Gargano National Park and Foresta Umbra, while small coves and dramatic rocky headlands characterise the nearby coastline.

“My first recommendation is to make the beach the centre of your holiday. Capo Vieste sits directly on Scialmarino Bay, and the sandy shoreline is particularly attractive for families because the water shelves gently. Guests repeatedly praise the beautiful beach, peaceful setting and exceptional location, with direct sea access and good sports facilities. If you are travelling with teenagers, don't simply reserve a sunbed and forget about the water. The Free Surf school is one of Capo Vieste's real advantages. The bay is well known for windsurfing and kitesurfing, and equipment can be hired on site. Beginners can take lessons while experienced guests can use the facilities independently. For families with younger children, use the children's pool during the hottest part of the afternoon and head back to the beach later. The pool is specifically designed for little ones, while the beach provides plenty of room for family games. We would also recommend choosing an accommodation with air conditioning, particularly in July and August. Mobile homes, cottages and bungalows provide considerably more comfort than a traditional pitch during the hottest weeks. The current accommodation range includes mobile homes, cottages, chalets and apartments, alongside shaded pitches for tents, caravans and campers. Don't overlook La Salata, just over a kilometre away. This early-Christian necropolis is one of the area's most interesting archaeological sites and makes an easy short excursion. For a bigger day out, take a boat from Vieste to explore the Gargano sea caves. And if you want a change from the coast, drive into Foresta Umbra, where the landscape becomes dramatically greener and cooler. Finally, bring your dog if you're travelling with one. Capo Vieste is genuinely pet-friendly: dogs can access both the campsite and beach, with a dedicated dog area, although they must follow the site's leash and hygiene rules.”
