The historic centre of Gallipoli is approximately 3 km away, with a complimentary seasonal shuttle making sightseeing particularly easy. The swimming complex is a major attraction, covering around 1,500 m², with a children's area, a 20-metre semi-Olympic swimming pool, swimming lanes, diving boards and whirlpool areas. Swimming caps are compulsory. Prefer the sea? Follow the underpass to the nearby private beach, where you can combine swimming with beach-bar relaxation. What about children? La Masseria has enough facilities for several relaxed days without needing the car, and the large swimming complex is particularly good for families. The 20-metre swimming pool is ideal for older children and adults who enjoy proper swimming, while the shallower areas are better suited to younger children. The beach is close, but it is worth knowing that the immediate coastline is not the classic wide sandy beach you may associate with Puglia. Parts are rocky or pebbly, with platforms and an underpass providing access. We recommend bringing beach shoes, especially for younger children. I would also take advantage of the Gallipoli shuttle rather than driving into the historic centre, especially during busy summer evenings. It removes the stress of parking and lets you enjoy the old town at your own pace. For a more authentic Puglian experience, book the Cantina Coppola winery visit. The campsite is part of a working family owned quality wine making environment, so this is a lovely way to connect your holiday with local wine and food traditions. Finally, plan at least one full day for Lecce and one for exploring the quieter beaches around Porto Selvaggio and Rivabella.”
