About Camping Village Spiaggia Lunga

Would you like a family holiday where the beach, swimming pools, water sports and nature are all part of the same experience? Camping Spiaggia Lunga occupies around 25 hectares in the beautiful Bay of Santa Maria di Merino, on the northern coast of Gargano between Vieste and Peschici. The resort has two distinct areas: the Zona Mare, beside the sandy beach, and the Zona Collina, surrounded by Mediterranean greenery and overlooking the bay. A free shuttle connects the two areas from morning until late at night. The beach is the star attraction. Scialmarino, also known as Spiaggia Lunga, is a long sandy beach with shallow, gently sloping water, making it particularly appealing to families with younger children. The resort also has three outdoor pools: two adult pools in the hill area and a children's pool with slides and water games beside the sea. What if your children want more than swimming? There is a Mini Club, Junior Club and Teen Club, plus daytime and evening animation, sports, playgrounds, tennis, basketball, mini-golf and organised activities. For older children and teenagers, the on-site windsurf and surf school adds a real sense of adventure. Accommodation ranges from shaded camping pitches to bungalows and modern mobile homes, making the resort suitable for families who enjoy traditional camping as well as those wanting more comfort. “Our first recommendation is to decide carefully between the Zona Mare and Zona Collina when choosing your accommodation. If your priority is convenience, especially with younger children, we would favour the Zona Mare. You are close to the beach, children's pool, playground, restaurants, market and daytime animation. If peace, greenery and a panoramic setting matter more, the Zona Collina is an excellent alternative. The free shuttle makes the two areas easy to combine, although it is worth remembering that the hill area is genuinely hilly. Recent guest feedback particularly praises the tranquillity, greenery and comfortable accommodation in the upper area. For families, we would also make full use of the shuttle rather than trying to move the car around the resort. It operates from morning until late evening and is one of the practical advantages of having two different holiday areas. If your children are interested in watersports, book some time with the Free Surf school. Scialmarino is particularly well known for windsurfing and kitesurfing, and the school provides instruction and equipment. Even beginners can enjoy watching the activity from the beach. For quieter family days, the sandy beach is ideal. The seabed slopes gently into the water, making it a comfortable choice for children. We would also keep one day free for Vieste itself and another for a boat excursion along the Gargano coast. The area is particularly rewarding from the water, with caves, cliffs, arches and secluded beaches. Finally, if you prefer an accommodation close to the main family facilities, mention this preference when booking. Exact accommodation numbers and positions are allocated by the resort and requests for specific locations are treated as preferences rather than guarantees”
