Camping Lou Broustaricq lies among the enormous pine forests of the Landes, beside Lake Sanguinet and close to the small town of Sanguinet. The immediate scenery is wonderfully green and flat, with maritime pines, sandy tracks, freshwater beaches and cycle paths creating a quintessential southwest-France backdrop. Around the lake, the landscape becomes a mixture of woodland, wetlands, agricultural clearings and little lakeside villages. Within 15 kilometres, Biscarrosse and its lake bring a livelier holiday atmosphere, while the Atlantic coast begins to reveal vast sandy beaches and dunes. It is a wonderfully natural setting, yet major attractions remain surprisingly accessible.

“My first tip is to use the campsite as your launchpad rather than your parking spot. The lake is so close that families can easily spend an entire day without getting back into the car. Follow the access through the pine trees to the lakeside, where the calm freshwater is excellent for younger swimmers and the surrounding area offers paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing and pedalos. For children, the Mini Club is worth putting on the holiday timetable. The campsite's current programme caters for 5–12-year-olds, while teenagers have their own club. Guests regularly highlight the friendly animation team, and the combination of sports, creative activities, games and evening entertainment gives children plenty of opportunities to make friends. If cycling is your family's thing, bring the bikes or hire them locally. The flat Landes terrain and extensive cycle network make this one of those destinations where cycling is genuinely useful rather than merely recreational. The route around the lakes is particularly attractive. For accommodation, consider whether you prefer shade or sunshine. The pitches range from 80 to 230m², with both sunny and shaded locations available. Families with young children may appreciate a position close to the central facilities, while those wanting more peace should ask about a quieter pitch or premium accommodation area. And save one day for the Atlantic. Biscarrosse-Plage is close enough for a spontaneous beach trip, while the Dune du Pilat deserves a longer outing. Our specialist suggestion? Arrive for late afternoon and stay for sunset. The views across the Bassin d'Arcachon are spectacular. Finally, don't overlook Sanguinet itself. The village is small and relaxed, making it useful for everyday shopping, markets and a change of scenery without turning the day into an excursion.”
