What happens when a five-star holiday village is built around its water park? Montana Parc Oasis Village in the heart of the Estérel is the delicious answer. Four supervised bathing areas await: a wave pool, a counter-current river, a 230 m² heated spa pool and a 500 m² pool. Add a four-lane slide and an aqua-play garden for little ones, and entry is free during opening hours. Is there anything to do once the swimsuits are drying? Plenty. Family entertainment runs day and evening at no charge, from shows and concerts to karaoke, cinema and family games, while children aged 4 to 10 can join the mini-club. Sporty types will find a tennis court, two padel courts, beach volleyball, mini-golf and archery, and anyone from age 16 can try the CrossFit area. Where will you sleep and eat? Choose a mobile home, a Villa Cottage or a pitch, then stroll to the village square, where the restaurant, the Bar-Snack L'Escale, an ice-cream shop and daily shops sit side by side. Burgers, crêpes and waffles come from the snack bar, and the night bar opens from 23:00. And beyond the gates? The village lies among 45 ha of pines and oaks, between the Maures and Estérel massifs, about 7 km from Fréjus and 10 km from the nearest beaches. Spend the morning on the slide, the afternoon by the Mediterranean and the evening at a themed dinner in July or August, then repeat. Cannes and Saint-Tropez round off the day-trip list. The water park is the beating heart of the village, with four supervised bathing areas: a wave pool, a counter-current river, a 230 m² heated spa pool with whirlpool and a large 500 m² pool. Youngsters have their own aqua-play garden and a 100 m² paddling pool, while thrill seekers race down the four-lane, 35 m slide. Sunbeds are free, entry to the water park is included during opening hours, and it welcomes swimmers from early April to late September.

Everything delicious gathers on the village square. Bar-Snack L'Escale serves sandwiches, burgers, paninis, salads, crêpes and waffles from April to September, with drinks and cocktails non-stop, while the ice-cream shop handles sweet cravings. In July and August the restaurant adds an à la carte menu and themed evenings (booking advised). Takeaway and a bread delivery service make self-catering easy, and the night bar opens from 23:00.

Entertainment is free for the whole family, day and evening, from April to September: shows, concerts, karaoke, cinema and family games keep everyone smiling. The multilingual reception team speaks French, English, Spanish, German and Italian. Rental check-in is from 17:00 and check-out before 10:00, with stays running Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday. A car is the easiest way to explore, so you can swap forest shade for seafront sparkle in a single afternoon.

“Planning your first morning? Start at the wave pool, then drift down the counter-current river and finish on the four-lane slide. Rental check-in starts at 17:00, so plan a leisurely journey and arrive ready to head straight to the village square. Travelling with little ones? The aqua-play garden and the 100 m² paddling pool are made for relaxed splashing. Mini-club for ages 4 to 10 costs just €1 per half day; register the day before and the morning is yours. Archery is our sleeper hit: the supervised 1.5-hour session only needs a quick sign-up at reception. Dining at the restaurant in July or August? Book ahead, especially for the themed evenings, which have a lively atmosphere. Barbecue lovers, ask about hiring one for €7 a day or €25 a week, subject to availability. Sunset on the padel court is our idea of a perfect evening, and the courts are free all season. We recommend bringing the car: the beaches are about 10 km away and Fréjus about 7 km, so outings come easily.
