Camping Eden occupies a wonderfully elevated position above the western shore of Lake Garda, in Portese, part of San Felice del Benaco. Within 15 kilometres, the scenery shifts beautifully between olive groves, vineyards, wooded hills, rocky promontories and the sparkling lake. The nearby Valtenesi countryside is distinctly rural, with agricultural lanes and rolling morainic hills, while Salò brings elegant lakeside promenades, cafés and boutiques. Manerba adds dramatic Rocca di Manerba and natural landscapes, while Gardone Riviera combines gardens, historic villas and the Vittoriale. Across the lake, mountain scenery provides an impressive backdrop, giving this corner of Garda a sophisticated mixture of nature, villages and lakeside life.

“My first tip is simple: make the lake part of the holiday, not merely the view. Eden's elevated position gives you that gorgeous panorama, but the private lakeside area is reached below the main resort, so families with very young children may appreciate having a pool day when they want everything close at hand. The lake itself adds a completely different swimming experience, with a diving platform and direct water access. The resort is terraced and hilly, so families with toddlers or pushchairs should ask for an accommodation location that minimises unnecessary climbing. A lake-view mobile home or chalet is particularly worthwhile if scenery matters to you; the elevated position is one of Eden's defining features. For touring families, the pitches are in the lower section and are arranged on terraces, with grass and gravel surfaces. Bring suitable footwear and allow a little extra time when moving between the different levels. If you are travelling with a dog, check the accommodation category before booking. The campsite is pet-friendly, but pets are not accepted in the standard mobile homes. Dogs are permitted on pitches and in the designated Chalet Marty and Chalet Giglio accommodation, subject to the campsite's rules and prior agreement. For sightseeing, use the campsite's reception as your local information desk. Boat excursions, Garda towns and cultural attractions are all close enough to create wonderfully varied days without spending the entire holiday in the car. And one final tip: save Salò for an evening. The lakeside promenade, restaurants and atmospheric old streets make a particularly enjoyable outing after a day beside the pool.”
